I got the title “Create your day the way you want” from a cyber friend and it got me thinking. I immediately responded to my cyber friend and said that I would definitely write about it in my blog.
Isn’t that true? You have the opportunity to decide how you are going to spend the day.
The moment you wake up in the morning you are faced with one great opportunity. A new day that has never been lived. A day that you have never experienced until now. Here comes the opportunity for you to surf through each second of the day the way you want to. You definitely will face all kinds of events. Nevertheless, you have a say on how you are going to respond to all that comes at you.
For instance, are you going to pass on to a negative remark with a big smile or dwell on one particular event and be immobilized? Are you going to interrupt your positive determination due to an incident you encounter that day? Are you going to give excuse and simply get resigned? Or are you going to accept the reality and still believe it is a new day and with vigor dive into creating with a decisive force? Will you be in the mode of creating your response consciously or are you simply going to go to autopilot and resort to old ways of being? Wow, the possibilities are endless and either path is within your reach and it is really up to you.
Whether you are responding from a space of authentic creativity or whether you are responding from a space of an autopilot reaction either way you are creating. You will have a lens to filter what comes to you. You have the last say on how you are going to interpret each moment. When you rely on the autopilot response you are not present to the moment and you are letting time fleet away without making time serve your purpose. That is where the difference lies. The vast time that a new day brings could be abused or realized to elicit your grander self.
How often do you catch yourself endlessly blaming people, your job and all other circumstances? When you are engaged in blaming your outer, you are truly depriving yourself from cashing in from what the moment delivers to you. You have the option to stifle or change your path.
When you are preoccupied with something else and you lose focus on what this moment is providing then there is one big scenario that you fail to observe. When you blame you are surrendering your power to the outer. You have deviated from your source, the infinite source that you can tap into any time. That infinite source is your birth right and you seem to have actually forgotten the tremendous power that lies within.
No matter what, however minute it might seem there is indeed a space where you could actually step into to exercise your power. You could intervene and change the course of the outer by arresting the normal mode of a reactive response. Of course, the result might not be realized immediately but you are definitely depositing towards that which you will give birth to.
How you might ask? It is that hidden space that you have and if aware and mindful you will not lose sight of it. It sort of is buried by all the clutter you engage your mind. So, how do you get rid of the clutter and chatter in the mind?
Again you create your day the way you want to. Get access to your source by finding a moment of silence. A moment of silence relieves your mind from being a slave to all the chatter. You just allow yourself to be in a space of silence and give yourself the chance to observe the drama in your mind. It is a moment where you get to watch a movie without spending a penny. Far removed from the drama in your mind you watch and watch and watch and continue the practice of observing the thoughts that preoccupy you. In time you will get a nudge from within and somehow come to a knowing that you are connected to that grander self. You have the natural ability to draw out the wisdom within. Sometime, somewhere you lost that practice and it is time you bring it back to your domain.
Know that the power within does not easily become visible. It gets clouded by the countless paralyzing beliefs you have acquired unconsciously. Slowly but surely with intention you will leaf through the clutter and you will be transported to that space that visionaries and innovators tap into. That is your source and there you will create your day the way you want to.
I reckon that you want to write your own script to your life. If that is so then question your belief system. Inquire how you came about believing thoughts that dis-empower you. Write and pour it out on paper so you could read it in a more objective way. It will help you from being attached to your thoughts and lead you to acquiring a skill to objectify your story. Have faith in yourself. Don’t shy away from experiencing failure because in failing you are granted an opportunity to correct your mistake and learn from it.
Watch a child struggle to get up and walk. Notice how often the child falls but the child does not get interrupted with a chatter of “I have fallen so I will never do it again”. On the contrary, the child falls, gets up, falls, gets up, falls, gets up and finally is able to walk. That is how anything is perfected to be an expression of wholesomeness.
Everything starts somewhere. When it gets started and gets demonstrated for the first time, it is never perfected. It is through tenacious commitment to whatever you are involved in that you deliver an envisioned result. Those outer comments that point to you and say you are a failure should be your motivating factors to propel you to produce what you envision. Tenacity and persistence will ultimately lead you to your desired result.
Try one thing today. Find out for yourself. Challenge yourself to create your day the way you want to. Just be in the space of being in a creative mode and you will surprise yourself. Go ahead and enter the zone. Stretch and exert yourself to step outside your comfort zone. I bet you will be closer to the jewel that is inside of you. Have fun, until next time.
